📍 Growth & Harvesting Timeline
Monitor your Dill’s progress to maximize your yield:
- 7-12 Days: Sprouts begin to appear.
- 2-3 Weeks: Small leaves grow; you can start harvesting them as Microgreens.
- 3-5 Weeks: Leaves grow rapidly; start picking the outer leaves.
- 7-10 Weeks: Leaves become dense and highly aromatic; continue picking in batches or harvest the whole plant.
✂️ The Professional Way to Harvest
- Snip the Outer Leaves: Use clean scissors or a small knife to gently cut the outer feathery leaves.
- Protect the Center: Always keep the inner leaves and shoots intact, as new Dill will continue to sprout from the center.
- The 2/3 Rule: Never harvest the whole plant at once. Leave at least two-thirds of the plant behind to ensure it stays strong enough to regrow.
- Avoid Damage: Do not tear or pull the stems, as this can damage the plant’s structure.
💧 Optimizing Your LetPot Environment
To keep those new sprouts coming, maintain these ideal hydroponic conditions:
- Water Stats: Keep the pH at 5.5–6.5 and EC at 1.0–1.5.
- Temperature: Maintain water temperature between 18–22°C.
- Light & Air: Provide 10–12 hours of light (especially in winter) and ensure good airflow.
- Maintenance: Regularly remove old or yellow leaves to prevent disease and keep the new growth healthy.
Happy Growing, LetPotters! Follow these steps and you’ll have a continuous supply of fresh Dill for your favorite dishes.
